Six Places To Eat And Drink In Boddington

Boddington is a little town 90 minutes south-east of Perth CBD, conveniently placed right off the Albany Highway, which many travellers use to get from Perth to Albany and other beautiful southern places. Boddington has a welcoming atmosphere for a small town, owing to the diversity of the residents, and visitors who work, rest and play there. The locals tend to be helpful and pleasant with a good story to tell. Visiting for the night and spending the day is a popular option because it breaks up a lengthy journey.

Boddington is known as the Peel Region's eastern gateway and is home to several places to eat and drink without having to venture far from the town centre.

1.         Conveniently positioned at the recently constructed Hotham Foreshore Recreation Ground, 124 Café is open seven days a week by the Hotham River. While the kids play, you may catch up with family and friends in the outdoor seating area that overlooks the park. A variety of options are available on the menu, including freshly prepared curry blended with a lovely combination of spices. Burgers, kebabs, pizzas, breakfasts, and seafood are all options if spicy food isn't your thing. The team has created a relaxing environment where customers can choose to eat in without feeling rushed and enjoy the ambience. Why not call for a takeout if you want to spend the evening at home without cooking?

2.         Double Shot Café, located in the heart of Boddington (opposite the Boddington Motel) along the main stretch, provides a lovely location for a coffee and a cake. The ideal spot for a great breakfast, brunch, or lunch – breakfasts are also offered for lunch. The coffee is excellent, prepared from coffee beans, and served to your taste. This is the place to go if you're craving a double shot espresso, latte, americano, or whatever your favourite cup is. A fantastic place to meet up with friends and catch up. Open: Weds-Sun, 8 a.m – 2 p.m.

3.         Aha, a Golden Nugget, is exactly what you might think when you find this one-stop shop for takeout food, booze, and the Lotto...oh, and you can also do your laundry here. The menu offers a variety of burgers, speciality sausages, chicken, and, of course, chips. While you wait for your laundry, this is a great spot to grab a quick lunch, a beverage, and a lottery ticket. Ideal for visitors, local workers, and locals alike.

4.         Boddington Hotel is the local bar where you can enjoy a cold pint while eating classic pub grub such as chicken parmi, steak and chips, seafood basket, burgers, and pizzas. There’s seating both inside and out for a warmer evening, plus the option to eat in, or take out.

5.         If you love cake, head to Our Bitchin' Kitchen. The menu is creative and vibrant, featuring popular cakes like The Matilda, White Riot, Covered in Caramel, and Cut the Carrot (carrot cake with lemon cream cheese frosting and walnuts). Alternatively, you can select from the list of ingredients to make your own cake. Cakes are available in both large and cupcake sizes, making them ideal for a celebration or as a treat. They also provide dessert platters and cater to business events and gatherings. There are also yummy breads for the savoury palate! Place an order by calling Chris:  0428 386 149. "it has actually made me hungry for cake while writing this."

6. Boddington Bakehouse produces delectable cakes and sandwiches on white, wholemeal, and multigrain loaves, as well as white rolls. Every day of the week, there is a fixed menu choice, PLUS extra food each day, such as on a Wednesday you can order Custard and Blueberry Scrolls, Honey and Rolled Oats Loaf, or Turkish Rolls, which are supplements to the usual menu. There is something new every day. Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Orders can be placed by calling 0426 806 060. Takeaway only!
